SNX joins Philotimo: his songs, in 20 languages, for social good
SNX, an artist, has joined Philotimo, the AI-for-good initiative led by AIA Labs. His contribution is his songs: ten of them, each translated into 20 languages and published at SNX.live, so that the words can travel as far as the music.
What Philotimo means
Philotimo is a Greek value that, in the words of Sotiris Makrygiannis, “encompasses honor, dignity, generosity, responsibility, and the willingness to do the right thing without necessarily expecting anything in return.” It is the idea behind the initiative: to use AI and technology for good, together with artists, researchers and partners.
Why AIA Labs does this
In 2020 Makrygiannis started AFR?D! to explore how technology can protect young people from online blackmail and cyberbullying. Philotimo continues that mission. When an artist chooses to give his work to a cause, AIA Labs wants to help it reach as many people as it can, in their own language.
SNX.live
SNX.live is live. It presents ten songs, each with its own page in every one of the 20 languages, including Arabic, Greek, Hindi and Japanese. The songs and lyrics remain SNX’s. SNX’s own site is snxbeats.com.
