Sotiris Makrygiannis, founder of AIA Labs
Sotiris is a seasoned analyst and adviser: a technology executive, inventor and entrepreneur with experience in growth start-ups and in advisory, and a long record of building products and platforms. He founded AIA Labs (AIA.labs OÜ) to help large organisations and public bodies rethink and deliver AI and digital transformation, honestly, hands-on and together with the people who will use it.
He has held leadership roles at Nokia and Eliademy and in several start-ups, and he advises boards. He is an Edison Award winner. He developed the method and led the analysis behind the Cyprus AI ecosystem report (GAIA 2025), commissioned by the Office of the Chief Scientist, and he writes independent analysis on technology and policy. He also leads Project Philotimo, AIA Labs’ AI-for-good initiative.
